About us
Cockpit Classroom is an aviation education platform built to provide personalized, practical, and professional ground instruction for pilots at different stages of training. Its mission is to make aviation learning more accessible by offering clear, focused instruction tailored to each student’s goals, experience level, and schedule. Whether you need help working through Airman Certification Standards (ACS) material, building a stronger understanding of key aviation topics, or receiving individualized support in areas where you are struggling, Cockpit Classroom is designed to provide training that is both structured and flexible.
All instruction is provided by an experienced flight and ground instructor who has taught in a university environment. This approach combines academic quality, real-world aviation application, individualized attention, and non-traditional study practices inspired by evidence-based learning methods used in medicine and psychology to help students build both knowledge and confidence. With personalized online ground sessions, flexible scheduling, and a steadily growing library of free educational materials, Cockpit Classroom exists to support serious aviation learning in a way that is convenient, professional, and student-centered.
About the Founder
Cockpit Classroom was founded by Evan Jackson, a flight instructor and aviation educator with a strong commitment to student learning, practical instruction, and continued professional growth. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation with a concentration in Professional Pilot, as well as a Master of Business Administration in Aviation Management, and he is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration.
Evan holds a flight instructor certificate and a flight instructor certificate with an instrument rating. He also holds a ground instructor certificate with advanced and instrument ratings, a commercial pilot certificate with airplane single-engine land and airplane multiengine land ratings and an instrument rating, and a Remote Pilot Certificate under Part 107.
Through his experience in aviation training and university-level teaching, Evan has worked closely with students at different stages of development and has seen firsthand where many learners struggle, where traditional instruction can fall short, and where greater flexibility and personalization can make a meaningful difference. Cockpit Classroom was created to help address gaps in aviation education for students while also encouraging stronger and more effective teaching methods for flight instructors.
